Pregnancy can be one of the hardest but most rewarding periods in a woman’s life. But with all the strains it brings on your body it can be tough to feel beautiful while you’re pregnant. Knowing your body and not sacrificing on your usual beauty and social regimes is essential for a happy you.
Pamper yourself
From time to time it is a good idea to get a manicure/pedicure, a new haircut, or your make-up done. There is no need to skip out on these beauty treats when you’re pregnant. You may be feeling cramped and bloated but treating yourself to a bit of ‘me time’ will help you stay focused and feeling beautiful.
If you always wanted to try out a certain haircut or colour then now’s the perfect time to do it! Something new will help make you feel younger and will act as a way of embracing the change to come. Spa days as well are great for helping you relax and rest from all the aches and pains of pregnancy.
It’s ok to buy maternity clothes
With high-street stores dedicating a whole section to maternity wear, gone are the days when maternity clothing was frumpy and embarrassing. Don’t be afraid to browse maternity clothing but like with all clothing, know what works best for you.
It is important to be conscious of your new bump now too so don’t pick out anything that is too tight or short. Feeling comfortable is key but this doesn’t mean you should miss out on staying stylish. Treat yourself to a new dress and love your new body.
Saturday night is date night
Suggest a date night with your partner or a friend. This will be a great opportunity to wear that new dress you bought and show off your new haircut. Socialising is essential during pregnancy to avoid any feelings of isolation.
Go for dinner for two or have a night at the movies; just make sure you aren’t confined to the house 24/7. You may feel swollen and exhausted but a change of scenery and fresh air will boost your mood and give you things to look forward to away from home.
